A "Marne" recipe
I love cooking and baking. I consider myself an excellent, yet amateur, food critic.
I am a huge from scratch, homemade type of cook. Lately, however, I’ve been doing semi-homemade meals that are fast and easy for after long days of work.
Today I made an awesome pasta sauce from Italian sausage, a jar of tomato and red pepper sauce, tomato paste, hot sauce, tons of Italian seasoning,...

GETTING MARRIED IN...

YAY!!!
good thoughts + prayers...
…that the Yellowstone River isn’t too screwed up from the oil spill. I’m particularly worried about wildlife.
When I can afford a 100% clean energy lifestyle, I’ll kiss gasoline and oil goodbye.
Until then I’m sickeningly dependent.
I love that Montana doesn’t have a million people and giant cities. What can be tough is that everything is soooo far away from...

self sabotage
Creating additional stress or worsening a problem when you are close to reaching a goal/trying to stop a bad habit or deal with environmental factors=self sabotage.
I do this with my skin. Once it starts looking AWESOME, I go picking at zits again. ARGH. WHY???
It’s interesting to think about. I believe that people are in control of themselves. Example: There is an awesome plate of...

If State Signs Were Truthful
I want to see a Montana sign! :) I’d imagine it’d be similar to Texas…or, I’d LIKE it to be similar to Texas, haha.

I did this a few years back with my co-workers Justin Thomas and @corygavinjones. The best part about it was, I got a whole bunch of angry letters from people who lived in Arkansas and in every one of those letters, there was at least one...
The Solar System Of A Bar
justinhalpern:
I wrote this a couple years ago, when I was at a bar and noticed every buff, fake tanned guy was basically orbiting around this one really attractive girl, and that around each one of these buff, fake tanned guys, were smaller, less buff guys orbiting around them. I decided to try and map it out. Not sure if I was successful, but anytime I can try to explain axe body spray using...

2 years
I’ve taught almost two years now.
WOW.
I can remember being SO nervous for my first day on the job, as a real teacher.
In 7.5 days I’ll be saying goodbye to the fourth graders I’ve grown so fond of.
SAD!
aw...
At a meeting with one of my kid’s parents, she mentioned that her son was worried about last year. I asked why, and she replied,
“He’s sad and nervous about not having Miss D next year. He really likes you.”
Uh…can I cry now? Tears of happiness, with a little sad mixed in?
Jake's Thesis Statement:: "Classy" Champions →
I think Kobe was classy. I was impressed with him, and I’m not a fan of his. Bynum and Odom were douches!

If you watched Sunday’s Game 4 of the Mavs and Lakers, you missed a freakin’ clinic.
This game proved many things:
1) The Mavs are for real (title contenders)
2) Dallas has the deepest team in the league
3) Age is overblown
4) The Lakers have no class
5) Poor Phil...
school is almost out...
…and I couldn’t be more excited! I love teaching, but this upcoming summer includes:
1.) getting MARRIED!!!
2.) one week honeymoon right outside Glacier National Park in a cabin…yesss
3.) Family reunion during honeymoon week which happens to be within a mile or two of our honeymoon site…nice, eh?
4.) Seeing tons of family
5.) Bachelorette party with awesome friends

Funniest SLASH simultaneously most disgusting...
One of my student’s birthday was today, and he brought everyone a small box of these.
Now, these are knock-offs of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans from Harry Potter. Something different however; the nasty flavor beans taste DISGUSTING and SMELL DISGUSTING as well.
The kids went nuts! It was great fun, but NASTY. There were lots of half-chewed, spitty beans in the garbage. The...
I hate taking sick days
This cold has won the battle of THIS WEEK. This is the second sick day I’ve ever taken in 2 years. Some reason I feel a little guilty I’m not there for my kids. Then I remember how awful I felt the previous days and feel slightly better about staying home.
THEN, I remember.
Sub plans.
UGH…..it almost made me not call for a sub. But I finished them.
C'mon Spring Break!
I’M READY!!!
Even though I’m completely ready for a break from the kiddos, tomorrow will be a good day. It’s St. Patty’s Day, which is always fun for the kids, and one of my student’s birthdays. We’re getting treats too…yahoo!
I love my job. Always have, even though I complain a lot. Well, I’ve complained a lot recently…the push before state...
